The North Queensland Cowboys Rugby League Club have been using Niagara hand held CVT units for the 2019 NRL season. We are considering adding the Apollo CVT Reclining Chair to our treatment and recovery protocols moving into 2020 and beyond.
Players have subjectively reported benefits in using the units pre-game particularly to the cervical spine and shoulder complex. Subjective reduction in muscle tone and reduced pain levels are some of the symptoms reported. There is some evidence in relation to muscle tone reduction with vibration therapy.
Our high load travel requirements demand light weight, reliable and robust units which we have had no issue with to date. Player ease of use and safety are paramount in relation to any therapy.
As a professional tool the hand held units are a useful addition to manual therapy techniques in both acute and chronic conditions which involve increased muscle tone or localized spasm.
We will continue to use these units and look forward to further player feedback.
